BIO

Inspiration can come and go like the wind. There are times when songwriting feels so fluid that I don’t even feel like I’m apart of it. Then there are times when finding the right words or notes are more of a struggle than jean shopping.

I started writing songs at the age of 14 like it was just another day. That and a guitar I saved all my pennies for, became my teenage lifeline. Throughout those years, I formally studied piano, dance and theatre, which led me to The Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, British Columbia. After graduating, I released my first album, “Keep What You Keep”, a culmination of songs I’d written throughout my teens and very early 20’s. A few years later, I released my second album, “Be As It Should”. Those were the sweet days of my early to mid twenties when being broke in Toronto was my greatest hardship.

I’ve now released my third independent album, “Without Meaning To”. You know those moments in life when you feel like you’re in the right place at the right time? I continually had that feeling while recording this album. I hold this particular collection of songs close to my heart and I hope that sifts through.

Writing for me has always been a therapy. It’s always been my guiding light, the nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach and the relief like light rain after a storm. As much as my songs can be serious, I find most things funny and ultimately, I try to rule my life from a place of happiness. I practice thankfulness and I believe that love is the only place I want to live within.

Thank you for reading, thank you for listening and thank you for supporting art of any form.
